I’m writing this on December 30th now, but yesterday I took a drive over to Iowa to go on a little hike. It wasn’t too cold, but it was fucking windy, and I slept a little bit longer than expected so I was running behind on my plans and I knew that soon it would be getting too dark to want to use my camera. I went to a spot near Marquette that I have been to before, and I expected to explore the west side of the highway, but instead I walked down to the river and just explored the ice instead. It allowed me more light to be out in the open, vs. being surrounded by dark trees.
There honestly wasn’t a whole lot of photogenic opportunities going on down there but I did get to catch a glimpse of the sunset on the hilltops.
I liked the contrast against the blue-grey sky.
Then I hopped back in my Subie, picked myself out a new sleeping bag for upcoming adventures, and worked over night. It was a super long night, and I actually did fall asleep a few times.
Coming up: I have an auto shoot scheduled in a few weeks, and I will be hanging out at a friend’s to look at a potential new vehicle. I’m sure I will be posting some nature stuff mixed in there as well.
Thanks for checking in!
