I had been waiting for this movie for so long and finally got to see it last night. I am a big Wolverine fan and have been since watching the X-Men cartoons when I was young. I haven’t read all the comics or anything, but I do collect them. I really enjoy the cover art, especially on the early issues. I feel that Logan and myself are very similar in lots of ways and that’s why the character resonates so strongly with me.
It bums me out that Hugh Jackman is done playing Wolverine, but that decision gave us the best portrayal of the character so far. Logan was incredible. Hands down, my favorite comic movie, and the best movie I have seen for quite some time. Obviously I’m not a film critic, so this is just my personal opinion, but seriously… This is what I’ve been wanting to see. This movie was bloody and violent, but also touching and emotional and that balance was so perfect. This movie was the perfect way to say goodbye to Wolverine and open a door for X-23 to take the spotlight for a while.
I’m not going into plot details or what I disliked about the movie. I just wanted to say that this movie was everything it needed to be. I feel both good and bad about everything I saw, and that is so much more real than how most comic films wrap up. If you haven’t seen it, you really should.
I can’t wait to go see it again.
